Its Christmas Time in Centerville City

Last night for Family Home Evening we decorated our Christmas tree! We had fun listening to Christmas music and making smores in our fireplace.

Andrea can be a little dramatic

Brinkley got in the Christmas Spirit too!
(Actually his attitude was more of a "Guys why are we doing this?)

Can't you just see Copper thinking "Get that thing out of my face."
Yeah he was a little grumpy.

Poor Copper, it wore him out dealing with all these crazy
people.

The finished product! Merry Christmas!

Pretty much the only picture we could get of Penny.

Walk for Diabetes

The Greater Cincinnati chapter of the American Diabetes Association held a 5K Walk/Run at The Great American Ballpark (Home of the Reds!) The course went along Cincinnati's River Front and then concluded inside the ballpark at the home base plate! (Pretty cool!)
It was my first 5K and I had a lot of fun with it. The sponsor meant a lot to me as November is the anniversary month of my Type 1 diagnosis.

I Love My Redhawks!

This weekend we visited Yager Stadium in Oxford to cheer on the Miami Redhawks who were playing their rivals the Ohio University Bobcats. (Now that I've been accepted to Miami dark green is no longer allowed in my house, neither is talk of the cursed cats...although wildcats are still perfectly welcome :) Everyone told me it would be a blow out game since OU is ranked and Miami...has a great academic life :) However, MY REDHAWKS WON!!! I love it when the underdog wins (Particularly when that underdog is the team I'm cheering for.)

Swoop the Redhawk! Before we went to the game I told dad that before I graduated I wanted to get a picture with Swoop. I didn't think it would happen this soon but as we were leaving the stadium dad grabbed my camera and told me to run with him. Swoop probably thought he had a chance to take a break by leaving the field but we still put him to work. Thanks big guy!

Cleveland Rocks!

This weekend we had an Ohio Region convention for Phi Theta Kappa in Elyria, Ohio (A suburb of Cleveland)
Part of the convention included a dance competition between chapters. Here is my Ohio Regional Officer Team in our dance outfits.

The conference was great! (and we got out about an hour early which left us with some time to go explore the actual city of Cleveland)

Browns Stadium. I was attempting to get a better shot of the sign. It said "Go Browns!" with the current temperature displayed: 41 degrees. Welcome to Cleveland!

Georgia on My Mind

This post is a little late coming but I recently had a fun trip visiting my family in Georgia. It was fun to see my brother, sister and my little nephew Anders. I was pretty traumatized by taking Anders to the pediatrician and hearing the doctor predict my little man will be close to 6"4' one day! I better cherish the time that I can play around with him now because little man is one day going to tower over me! It was fun to explore more of Athens, learn more about gluten free living from Heather, discuss grad school options with Mike and bounce on the air mattress with Anders. (Sorry about that hole in the mattress y'all)
The beginning of his super cute, flustered asking "Where'd ___  go?"

Exploring the Athens Zoo with dada

It was also fun to continue Mike and I's summer tradition of attending a Braves game. Even though I live near Cincinnati I have a special soft spot for the Atlanta Braves gleamed from watching multiple games at Turner Field with my family.
Our view of Turner Field, even though we were high up we had a good view of the field.

Souvenir photo. Aren't we cute?

Day Trips

Before Brent moves to Utah we decide to take a day trip and enjoy Kentucky. We spent Friday night enjoying Newport and Cincinnati and then Saturday we made a day trip to Loserville (some people call it Louisville. Go Cats!) We went to the zoo, The Slugger Muesem and the temple.
The view of the Cincinnati skyline from Tom and Chee's patio.

View of the Big Mac Bridge from The Purple People Eater Bridge (I swear I'm not making these names up on my own)

Good news! The Reds won!
